Finishing, cleaning and refining to the highest standard.
Post-Processing
We employ highly skilled CAD designers in our Sydney office, our teams speciality is focused solely in the jewellery industry, from off the shelf designs to complete be-spoke custom one off designs.

Once castings are completed and flasks are initially divested, we perform multi-level stages of post-processing including micro-vapour honing, flush cutting feeder sprues and flow gate removal to deliver your items ready for the bench as part of our standard post-processing services. This quality-first approach saves time, reduces billable gold, reduces gold loss and ensures superior results.

Post-Processing

Ultimate Post-Processing Powered by OTEC GmbH

Best for: Customers who need maximum time savings, maximum reduced gold loss behind the bench & a flawless polish all over including inside setting areas for the setters to pop the stones in immediately.

The Highest Level of Pre-Setting Surface Preparation

For workshops requiring the highest level of finishing and move straight to setting without pre-polishing stone areas, our Ultimate Post-Processing service combines manual refinement, OTEC disc finishing and OTEC electro-polishing.

This process is designed to take surface preparation further, including selected areas within stone-setting regions where the design allows.

For suitable designs and applications, this can reduce pre-setting bench labour by up to 98%.

Typical Ultimate Post-Processing Workflow Includes

Standard Post-Processing including

All steps from our Standard Post-Processing are performed, these include: Acid bathing, vapour honing, flow gate removal, sprue flush cut, magnetic pin finishing, ultra-sonic & ultra-sound drying and quality control.

Standard Post-Processing including

Manual Profiling

Our jewellers carefully profile sprues and flow gate contact points with Swiss made files, they take their time to ensure all contact points are perfectly profiled.

Printing-Line Refinement

Visible printing lines are removed from accessible external surfaces and including inside stone galleries. This extra step to include inside stone galleries & centre stone galleries is another part that separates Advanced & Ultimate Post-Processing.

Printing-Line Refinement

OTEC Fine Burnishing

Castings are placed in OTEC's MAG-30 magnetic pin finishing machine to provide a very fine burnish, refine the surface further and reach difficult areas, we also use OTEC's brightening compound which helps provide a brighter finish & higher shine to the surface for the further stages.

OTEC Fine Burnishing

OTEC CF 3x18 Dual Stage Wet Grinding

Castings go into our OTEC CF 3x18 Disc Finishing Machine, in this step, we perform 2 stages of wet grinding, the first stage being a wet ceramic grind to provide the bulk of the cut evenly, the second stage is a wet hybrid plastic chip that refines the casting surface.

OTEC EF-ONE Electro Polishing

A single stage of flawless electro polishing throughout the entirety of the casting including inside stone galleries, this step skips the dry polishing required from Advanced Post-Processing providing the highest brilliance & shine throughout the entire casting. Once completed, castings go through final cleaning, including ultra-sonic, steaming & ultra-sound drying, final QC including: XRF scanning, weighing, labelling & invoicing.
